Dan: I’m gonna sit my kids down when they get to the age of 12 and go, “What’ve you done?! I had done two films by now!”
I first read Harry Potter starting in the 4th grade. I saw the first Harry Potter film in the 6th grade. In my summer before senior year of college, the final chapter of over a decade-long saga has come to an end. And what a magical ending it was.
“I think the best part about the midnight showings is the sense of community. Everyone gets together, dresses up and gets in line. There’s an excited buzz that people share, and you end up talking to people you’ve never met before about their costumes, or favorite characters. Then you get into the theater and watch the actual movie. Everyone cries, applauds, or cheers, and at times, everyone is just silent. At the end, wands up, and “Mischief Managed”. Sure, maybe it’s just a movie, but by the end, I just felt so connected with every stranger in the room.”
